Remove any dust or debris from all exposed portions of the panel, including the cradled sides and panel back, using a vacuum or air pressure if very dusty, then wipe clean with a slightly wet microfiber cloth (or other lint-free cloth) (with water).
Place the panel flat on a table and raise it several inches on all four corners with jars,
custom wood signs, wood props or other items to enable easy wiping away of any drips and application.
Paint any exposed wood surfaces with a glossy acrylic medium. The GAC100 from Golden was created specifically for this purpose. Its thin polymer acrylic formulation soaks in rapidly and minimizes brushstrokes and roughness when applied to the wood. Golden has lately modified their recommendation. You might also use a professional stain sealer, which can be bought in home improvement stores.
Allow one side to dry completely before flipping it over to seal the other. The time it takes for something to dry varies. It can be flipped over without sticking to the table or other props once it is dry to the touch and has lost its tack.
