Hello everyone.
Background: I work as a technology consultant full-time and have been selling on Amazon for about six months in my free time. I understand how to locate and introduce an FBA product. Like many others before me, I followed the JumpSend/Viral Launch ==> Alibaba => Freightos path. I opted to place a second order this month even though my initial manufacturing run wasn't particularly profitable due to a recent increase in sales volume. When comparing my financial estimates to the actuals that have been received, my biggest area of underestimate from a cost viewpoint was advertising (Amazon PPC only). This is the main reason for my current lack of profitability, according to what I've determined.
Anyhow, I'm searching for guidance/mentorship from an established Amazon seller or Amazon VA that has traveled a similar road to the mine. Perhaps your success has even allowed you to resign from your position (let's be honest, that is my true objective in this). I'd be interested in hearing from you as well if you've recently been able to earn a profit. Actually, I'll listen to advice from anyone they feel has something to add.
I specifically need assistance in the following areas:
What is the most effective approach to obtaining product reviews? I've run a number of email ads asking for reviews, but just about 4% of orders result in reviews.
What are the most effective broad methods for PPC advertising on Amazon? I ran an automatic campaign for a while before reviewing it and changing it to a manual campaign using only the most effective keywords. But consistently, my ACOS is higher than I need it to be (about 50-60 percent on average, whereas for my products - I need 30 percent ).
What additional marketing initiatives have you found to be particularly successful? In order to create a customer list, I've been thinking of creating a landing/squeeze page and utilizing Google Ads to promote it. Does it merit my time?
Any other advice for a fresh Amazon seller?
We all appreciate it in advance.
